It is possible to fill or empty a tank with a submersible pump or a sump pump. You should select the pump depending on the pumped liquid and the required duty. Our submersible pumps are ideal for filling water tanks, but they also serve for the water supply of single-family homes, irrigation of vegetable and gardens.
Submersible pumps are suitable for installation in tanks or even very deep wells. For example, our 4" submersible pump S4” ranges have a flow rates up to 122 gpm (27.7 m3/h) with head up to 1208 Feet (368 meters) with a water temperature between 32°F and 1043°F (0°C and 40°C). Our 7" submersible pumps (e.g. the Dtron2, Dtron3 & ESYBOX DIVER series) meet the same needs but offer different characteristics, with flow rates up to 31.7gpm (7.2 m3/h), head up to 180 feet (55 meters), and liquids with sand up to 0.003 lb/ft3 (50 g/m3) and a maximum immersion depth of 49 feet (15 meters).
Other submersible sump and drainage pumps, like the NOVAseries and VERTY NOVA (for pumping gray water without filamentary bodies) are ideal for emptying water tanks as well as for drainage of water from basements and garages, for installation in rainwater collection and drainage wells or for draining water from tanks or rivers. These pumps have capacities up to 66 gpm (15 m3/h) with a maximum head of 30 feet (9.1 meters), withstand a water temperature between 32°F and 95°F (0°C and 35°C), a maximum particle size of ½” (13 mm) and an installation at a maximum depth of 16 feet (5 meters). If the suspended bodies are up to 1 ½ “ (40 mm) in diameter, we suggest the use of our FEKAor FEKA BVP Ranges. These pumps are suitable for the drawing of waste water. Flow rates are up to 110 gpm 25 m3/h with a maximum head of 39feet (12 meters). The temperature of the liquid must be between 32°F and 95°F (0°C and 35°C), the maximum immersion depth can be 23 feet (7 meters).

If the well is less than 4 “ and is less than 29 feet you would need to use a surface self-priming JET, pump with flows up to 23 gpm (5.2 m3/h); head up to 213 ft (65 meters) in Liquids with a temperature between 32°F to +104°F (0°C and 40°C).
